Green Spaces

The Spitalfields Society is committed to protecting and enhancing the green spaces of Spitalfields, in particular Christ Church Gardens and Allen Gardens. These open areas are vital to the character, biodiversity, and wellbeing of the community.
 
We support sensitive landscape improvements, careful planting, and maintenance that respect their historic setting and ensure they remain open, safe, and accessible to all. The Society opposes any development or event that would diminish their openness, heritage value, or ecological quality.
 
Working closely with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and local groups, we seek to ensure these gardens continue to serve as cherished green havens at the heart of Spitalfields.
