Truman Brewery Masterplan
The Truman Brewery Masterplan focuses on the long-standing historic brewery site adjacent to Brick Lane and Spitalfields.
The estate’s redevelopment proposals, led by Grow Places and supported by a multidisciplinary team including Buckley Gray Yeoman and Chris Dyson Architects, seek to revitalise under-used parts of the 350-year-old complex with a heritage-led, mixed-use scheme. Plans envisage approximately 35,000 sq m of floorspace incorporating new housing, creative hubs, food markets, micro-brewery facilities, affordable workspace, and enhanced public realm with distinctive new yards and open spaces framed by preserved and refurbished historic buildings.

The masterplan has progressed through extensive community consultation, even as some local planning challenges and symbolic rejections by the Tower Hamlets Council underscore the ongoing negotiations around heritage, connectivity and appropriate scale for the neighbourhood’s future.
