Princelet Street Synagogue at 19 Princelet Street is one of the rare surviving examples of a 19th-century purpose-built synagogue in London and a unique testament to Spitalfields’ rich multicultural history, is now in the hands of the Spitalfields Trust. Originally founded by Eastern European Jewish immigrants in 1870 and later expanded, the synagogue operated well into the 20th century before the local Jewish community dispersed after WWII.

The Grade II*-listed building, part of a larger 18th-century Huguenot merchant’s house, retains significant historic fabric including original fittings, and today is being conserved by the Spitalfields Trust as a heritage centre. Ongoing restoration aims to make the site safe and accessible for the public, preserving an important narrative of immigration, community life, and religious history in London’s East End.
