Liverpool Street Station can be modernised without demolition.

Building Design has published a new article highlighting John McAslan + Partners’ light-touch alternative proposal – a reuse-first vision that upgrades Britain’s busiest station while retaining its historic Victorian concourse and roof.

Following our recent London studio event with SAVE Britain’s Heritage and the Twentieth Century Society, the conversation continues: capacity, accessibility and passenger experience can be improved without erasing one of London’s great civic spaces.

The Spitalfields Society supports this campaign as the majority of our members regularly use the station we are concerned to see it thoughtfully restored and developed- this proposal does that

However it is not the planning scheme currently proposed it is a campaign proposal made to challenge that going through planning presently.
